The new industrial/distribution space will be developed as a low-carbon employment zone and will utilise modern technologies providing electric car charging points, green energy generated through solar panels and recycling of rainwater.
Magna Business Park is a key employment site with the flexibility to offer leasehold or freehold buildings within 12-months of securing detailed planning consents. The site will feature the following benefits:
- Renewable energy in the form of hot water and electricity supplied directly from the adjoining Canford Renewable Energy Power Station;
- Attractive landscaped environment;
- Ecological features created to enhance the biodiversity of Magna Business Park and reinforce the boundaries of adjacent habitats;
- Adjoining land will be set aside for seating areas and an informal footpath circuit for the use of employees during their break periods;
- The adjoining Canford Park Arena is available for mounting trade exhibitions and other events; and
- 3G Football pitches have been developed on adjoining land and will be available for use by employees.
The employment park will create between 1,100-1,650 jobs and contribute an estimated £96 million to the local economy each year. The proposed uses will be B1(c), B2/B8 units and will not include heavy industry or pure offices.
